Most of the citizens living in the United States of America feel that they are unable to cater for their basic needs. For these citizens, the government of the United States pays a certain amount of money on monthly basis via various programs such as Social Security.
Nevertheless, some of these payments may not meet the needed amounts hence raising demand for further support. In order to counter this, the government has provided the Social Security Expansion Act which is aimed at raising additional funding for the deserving person.
Proposed Monthly Increases
Presently, many low-income earners are hardly able to make ends meet and under the proposed Social Security Expansion Act, most of them could receive $200 more per month, which is $2400 more in Social Security bank.
Also a nationwide guaranteed income plan of $1200 per month for the low income is in place. This support is to make people agree on how they can control their expensives.
Both are still in the proposed stage as they would have to be sanctioned by the government before going into operation. Each of those payments meant a lot of money for eligible individuals, and some people could apply for both of them at the same time.
Eligibility Criteria
Owing to the proposed 2% annual increase in SSB costs, the social security tax base, beneficiaries receiving RSDI, SSI, and VA would equally be affected. The $1200 monthly payment would be extend to the poor earners in U.S. The rules require that the participants earn not more than $75,000 per year if they are single and $150,000 if they have a spouse.
Payment Schedule
Right now, both $2400 and $1200 stimulus checks are still ideas that Congress and the White House still need to approve. Payment plans will as such follow the schedule followed in the social security benefits where details have been provided on SSA.
On a need basis for each country, specific dates for making the proposals available for distribution will be recommended once the proposals have been officially recommended.
