3 Upcoming EVs in India: Range upto 550 km at Single Charge

The future is Bright for those partial to Electric Cars

With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki – India’s largest car manufacturer is all set to make its foray into the greener vehicle segment with more vigour. Being currently lowest in the electric car segment Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to shake this world by introducing three new glamorous electric cars in the next years.

It’s always enthralling to see new models in the horizon with most advanced features accompanied by the reliability of an automobile giant like Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Suzuki eVX

Maruti Suzuki got into the electric car market by introducing the eVX, an electric SUV, at the Auto Expo conducted in February this year. This much-anticipated vehicle is expected to come into the Indian market during the F1 of 2025 calendar year.

Media sources reveal that the Maruti Suzuki eVX promises a range of up to 550 km per charge, and will compete with the Mahindra XUV400, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the recently introduced Tata Curvv EVs. Simply put, this electric SUV will be a game changer in the market as it will offer a highly competitive range besides efficiency in use and durability from Maruti.

Maruti Suzuki YMC MPV

However, the company is not limited to developing an eVX model only but is also silently testing an electric MPV, namely YMC. It is estimated that this new MPV will be released into the market about 2026 targeting families that are in the market looking for a spacious car with better fuel efficiency.

According to some sources Maruti Suzuki YMC MPV will be integrated with 60kWh battery pack capability for over 500 km mileage on a single charge. This model will probably address the customers’ demand for a utilitarian yet fashionable electric car for their regular usage.

Maruti Suzuki eWX

Maruti Suzuki is also expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a compact electric hatchback, the Maruti Suzuki eWX. This concept model was recently showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, creating a buzz among EV enthusiasts.

The Maruti Suzuki eWX is expected to compete directly with the MG Comet EV and Tata Tiago EV in the Indian market. As a compact and affordable option, the eWX is ideal for urban commuters who prioritize efficiency and convenience in a small package.
