LPG Subsidy Scheme: Transfer of ₹632 Crores to the Accounts of Laadli Sisters

The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput said that between July 2023 and May 2024, ₹632 crores have been put into an account for 2.57 crore refills of LPG cylinders.

Benefits of the Scheme

Minister Rajput explained that the objective of the scheme is to support the use of clean cooking fuel and stop health problems caused by conventional fuels. The thrust behind this initiative is to encourage the application of safe and clean energy options. From July 2023, women could acquire gas cylinders at a price of ₹450.

LPG Subsidy Breakdown

As part of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, eligible women get a ₹300 subsidy from the central government. An LPG cylinder in Madhya Pradesh currently costs ₹808. The state government is supplying an extra ₹58 subsidy monthly for all beneficiaries.

For women participating in the Laadli Behna Yojana, the state government is providing a ₹358 subsidy on each cylinder priced at ₹808, so they can purchase the cylinder at ₹450.

Women receiving LPG cylinders can check their subsidy status by following these steps:

1. Access the official webpage mylpg.in.

2. Click on the logo that shows your LPG provider.

3. Choose “new user” to register.

4. Enter your consumer number alongside your registered mobile number, before hitting the button labeled “continue.”

5. Produce your ID and password, and finally hit “Sign in.”

6. Sign in by entering your user ID, the password, and completing the CAPTCHA process.

7. To see the subsidy details, click on “view cylinder booking history” available on the left side.

Laadli Behna Yojana Overview

The Laadli Behna Yojana gives ₹1,250 each month to eligible women, together with the LPG cylinder benefit. The scheme, introduced by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in May 2023, will last for five years.
