Significant Salary Hike for Employees: Gift before Diwali

The government is preparing to gift employees with a pay hike just in time for Diwali. This move targets secretaries of the villages, technical assistants, accountants and IT assistants, and is a step forward towards right compensation to those who handle important positions at the base.

Approval Process and Implementation

The salary increase has been approved by the Finance Department and a higher level committee has also blessed the proposal. It’s been prepared for execution, yet it awaits Cabinet endorsement.

Should the company approve these changes, a new pay structure will be effected from Nov 1, 2024. About 9,700 employees stand to benefit from this change which will significantly increase their earnings.

Revised Salary Structure

In the new structure, village secretaries are to get a minimum pay of ₹7,000 per month up to a maximum of ₹10,000. Accountants and it assistants have been promoted to the tune of a minimum of ₹20,000 – ₹21,000 increment.

Also, the new maximum allowance for accountants’ wages will be higher and will increase from ₹25,000 to ₹36,000. For technical assistants, the salaries will be adjusted based on experience: first year assistants will earn ₹25000 any assistant less than three years in service will earn between ₹27000 and ₹31000 any assistant who has served for exactly six years will earn between ₹31000 and ₹36000.
